SICILY, SYRACUSE Æ HEMILITRON
DOLPHIN AND SCALLOP SHELL

Date: 357-344 BC
Diameter: 17.2 mm
Weight: 2.57 grams
Obverse: Female head left, with hair in sphendone, olive sprig behind
Reverse: Dolphin leaping right above scallop shell, Ã"YPA below dolphin
Reference:: BMC 301
Other: Choice detail style and patina ... VF/VF

lets check the history of the region during this time:
War
Dictator
Power struggle

Athena would make sense... Had it taken place in 392, I would have said Peresphone, due to the plague that was taking place...

My first guess might be Artemis, because she is often depicted on Syracuse coins
However, she's usually pictured with a quiver, and here we have a olive sprig.
Sometimes Athena is associated with an olive leaves. Great dolphin on the back!
