Very nice! If I were ever to collect circulated commemoratives, the "look" of this coin would be the one I would seek for all of the coins

HONDO - lovely addition to your growing set of circulated classic silver commemorative. Concur with VF35ish ... lovely original surfaces with an outstanding eye appeal. Thrilled for you to view this outstanding coin in your set. BTW ... how do you do that with your tongue? David

If it were a letter for the nats, it would be an E for error...

Well, looks like the Nats are getting back into form. Phew... I picked up a replacement coin for my 1951P Booker T Washington. My old coin was lower grade, but I like this one much more. Thoughts on grade? I'mthinking VG.

My eyes see a full rim both sides ... so definitely no lower than VG. My initial reaction is closer to F12/F15. Nice addition HONDO. David

Congrats on the latest acquisition!
As nickelsearhcer mentioned, it does appear to be nicer than a VG coin. I was thinking F-15, possibly even a VF-20. But I'm not a grading expert on circulated US commemoratives.

Hi Hondo! I'm a fairly new member here, and I found your thread and really dig what you're doing. I have some of the moderns but these circulated early's are the bomb. Just been flipping through your quest pages, and see all the pics you posted on 1/28/2014. Very nice. Have you ever seen a 1935 Connecticut (charter oak) in circulated condition? I'd love to see one, if not get a hold of one.
Too bad the moderns are never found circulated. I think some of those would look great circulated, even thinking about picking some up for under $20 if possible (1980 issues) and carrying as pocket pieces to get them nice and circulated. Any thoughts on proof vs. uncirc for that purpose. I've seen some posts on here (re: pocket piece) with pics of the 1986 Liberty proof dollar, the fields getting all scratched up. Maybe the uncirculated versions would be better to "un-uncirculate". Does a double negative make a positive?

One_fine_dime, thanks for looking and for the comments. I was introduced to the series in circulated condition by a few fellow forum members and we all really enjoy the quest... It's tough but very rewarding.
I think the current lowball Connecticut is owned by forum member "not mint to be" and it can be seen in his top rated pcgs registry set for lowball Classic commems. Another low grade Connecticut was recently found and it might tie over the number one spot. It is also in the Vf range.
As far as carrying modern commems as pocket pieces, I'm all for it. I carry a 1994 U.S. Capitol dollar with me every day and it's fun. No real thoughts on unc vs proof. I prefer uncs but that's just me.
Thanks for the heads up on the San diego, but I will pass. There's a difference between honest circulation and damage. That guy has been through heck and back and is damaged.
Thanks gain for looking!

Thanks Hondo. I agree, that poor San Diego has been through the ringer indeed. $42 seems a bit steep. Can't find "not mint to be" on the PCGS registry set digital album page ( http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/Dig...lbums.aspx), do you know where I could see it? Anyway, if (or when) you get a low grade Connecticut, I'm sure you'll post pics. Also, now that you mention the 1994 US Capitol coin, I do remember seeing your post. I had to find it again after you mentioned it. https://goccf.com/t/192593#1785467Very cool!
