120 years old you'll pick up a scratch here and there, and I've had the coin 35 years and it wasn't cleaned in that span. Maybe my grandfather cleaned it before he gave it to me.

((cleaned and banged up)) That shows just how little you know The coin grades PCGS AU.55 The only scratch you can see with just your eyes is the bag mark on the face, the rest you will need a 30x loop.

If that coin graded PCGS 55 then you posted a very bad picture of it.

Like I said the scratches are extremely fine about 10x thinner than a hair. That is a 2,400 DPI picture, that's double HD quality.

Is the coin a little darker in hand or is this a good representation of the luster?

The coin still has all it's luster, my camera is just putting out too much detail. I'm going to drop it from 24mp to 4 and maybe the coins will look better.

Thank you for posting the updated picture. I agree with AU details as I believe it was cleaned.

From your grandfather? Nice heirloom and I hope you keep it safe!
