So, if everyone thinks this is a good idea, I will start with Julius Caesar. Everyone with a JC coin should post their images. I think we should take two days. So, On Sunday, we will move on to Augustus.

Julius Caesar AR Denarius RRC 443/1, struck 49-48 BC
OBV: Elephant advancing right. CAESAR
REV: Simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat

Countdown-From-1-=>-To-207

This is the first coin struck in the name of Julius Caesar. The symbolism on the obverse apparently alludes to the conquest of good over evil, Caesar's victory over the Gauls, while the reverse refers to Caesar's possession of the office of Pontifex Maximus.

I'll give it a shot. Don't have any Julius Caesar so I'll wait until we get to Augustus.

I don't have anything until Caracalla if we aren't posting provincials... Geta if we are (It's dated a little earlier, but not by much)

I'm not wishing to be ahead of the game but I'll still post a Caesar portrait fourree with a pretty strong remnant of Caesar facing right looking into a poorly struck face of Octavian/Augustus. The reverse indicates the coin was issued by Agrippa who was intended to be #3 but died before Augustus and messed up the whole game plan.

I regret this is a fourree but I'm happy to have this one in any shape. It is rare. The link below claims to be among the best.

Mine claims to be the worst. Wildwinds has one that is obviously fourree but was not listed as such and failed to make its reserve according to the listing.

I suggest making separate threads for each ruler. That way the threads don't get too long.

I think JC would be happy to know his Denari finally made it into the hands of the plebs.

JC Carthage mint same as Bings posted in the last smackdown. I think mine has character.

This coin has seen better days but when I saw it I had to have it, Obverse, Diademed head of Venus right, Reverse, Aeneas fleeing Troy carrying a Palladium and his elderly father. Coin is 16mm and 3.05g and was minted in Africa c. BC 47.

@Gil

I hardly think that this will get to the 900 posts of the JFK Roll Hunting Thread.

One should be fine!

The reason why I mention it is because it's easier to reference each ruler instead of them all being in one thread. I saw a few of those roll hunting threads. Yes, they are large but more of a general thread and not too much variety other than JFK half dollars.

I'd also rather have it all in one thread. Just seems more organized that way and we don't have to keep making new threads.
