I can't tell for sure from that photo. If I had to guess I'd say yes, it's been treated. Looks like a "normal" neck on the indian until just above the date, then it goes dull/grainy.

Like I said though, I used the acid on 500 buffalo's. I bought a bag of 500 no-dates. I know what it looks like so that one to me did have it done. Think I paid 75 dollars for the bag.

I was thinking of that too. I local dealer was talking about all the no date Buffalo nickels they have and was thinking of what I could find in them. He had a large plastic container of 3/4 horn buffalo's he couldn't get rid of. I bought some to sell on ebay to see how that goes.
