With those stains i'd drop to Fine. You could clean it but then you'd be ridiculed for doing it.

The green stain looks like PVC residue to me.

I don't see much wear on the high points of this coin. EF.
Actually, I still have a slightly quirky streak in me.
I just love to pick out old 20 cent NZ coins out of dealers junk boxes, and if I can buy them for face value or less, I just have fun, and put them back into circulation in Australia.

I don't think I am to blame in this case. I most probably would have kept this one myself if had got it for 20C. In this condition, it is worth more than 20C.

I take it that this coin is scanned and not photographed.
Scanning is not complementary for coins but it does show the condition (warts and all).
I would imagine if you used a camera on this coin it would look far better.
gVF
hardly any wear on the high points and the details of the coin are pretty much intact
I would grade it aEF but the verdegris on the coin is enough to drop a grade.

For about 6 months I used NZ and GB florins as 20c coins (same mass and diameter) to pay for parking at Adelaide Uni . I got them way way below 20c each. Yes it took me about 5 minutes to get enough in there but it was worth it. It was the difference between being able to drive or have to catch the bus.

Thatll teach the council to gimme a fine
