I realize this a let down after yesterday's 56 FE, but I love this series more than any other. I think it's because I only need the 1909-S to complete the set ;-)

Reintroduction-Week-Part-III--1877-Indian

I'm thinking VG-8 or F-12, you?

In person the coin is a chocolate brown with none of the green tones you see. Someday I'm going to become a big boy and get camera and build a coin photo setup like I've seen on these forums.

Reverse to follow once I figure out how to compress it. Image optomizer keeps telling me "oops" when I try to use it...

I understand pretty much a lot with computers. I know different types of files.
To edit this photo you can use Paint. Should be on your computer.

Looks like VG-8. Because librerty isn't full.

*Of is worn
*Date is damaged.

So VG-8

I take this one as F12. All of LIBERTY letters are evident, even if not completely readable. Nice coin.

You sure have posted some rare and interesting coins. BTW, any 1877 IHC, no matter what condition, is not a let down. I am waiting for the reverse before I take a guess at the grade.

And the reverse.

Thanks for the kind comments about my coins even if they are imperfect. I admit to showing off a little because they mean so much to me as I consider them part of my family heritage. I have 4 kids (I'm 48) and one day when I'm a grandfather the one that shows the most inclination & interest will become the 4th generation caretaker of them.

Next week I want to branch out & post some old British & Canadian stuff
Rest in Peace

Congratulations the ownership of any 1877 Indian is an accomplishment, but my guess is that it might grade something like Good Details at PCGS. I am saving up for an 1877 Cameo Proof. These can be had at almost the same prices as the circulation strikes

And you one of the few who actually mean it, owning a 1856 and all.
F12 on my favorite coin and I see where amida17 is coming from

Hard to tell if corrosion. If so, details grade.
