This 1860-O Seated Liberty dollar is for sale. I want to make sure that I don't pay too much for the coin. How much is this Seated Liberty dollar worth? I am looking for a nice example in my price range, which is $250 or less. Thanks

It's worth $150 tops to me and likely about $100 wholesale. It is a heavily worn and damaged common date with VG Details.

Problem-free examples of this date in VG can be found for $250. I would not buy that coin unless it's for a song. Like $125.

I see the wear, but where are you seeing the damage? Are you calling rim dings?

Yes, I am guessing the rim dings would be considered damage.

EXCEPT for the rim problems, I like the coin. It has even wear and pleasing color. If it didn't have the dings I'd consider $250 a reasonable price.

"Common date" when it comes to Seated dollars does not mean the coin is inexpensive. About 15 years ago I started looking for my first Seated dollar and was somewhat shocked to see the prices for problem-free coins in Fine started at about $200. Instead I bought a $10 gold piece for about $260 which seemed like a better value.
