1953 NSF MS 65 73 coins none higher. @ kbbpll those early 30s are tough only 10 total MS 65 pieces for all years from 1930 - 1935. None at all for 1933!!

PCGS has 34 five cents 1930-35 in 65+ by comparison. Something else to contemplate I guess. PCGS gives higher grades compared to ICCS and has higher volume are the obvious factors. But did they get sent south in higher numbers? Mine came south around 1948-49. Well, I never run out of stuff to speculate about.

Newfoundland MS66 1872 H Large Cent 3 coins with 29 in 65. This is a Heaton Mint hoard coin one would think? I have owned more than a few in mint state of this issue. ICCS shows 104 in mint state of the 1872 H , far and away the easiest date of the Victorian Cents of Newfoundland. Hope this helps Jack

Thanks, Jack. Yes, they are a hoard coin. 3 ICCS plus 9 PCGS = 12, or more, in 66.

I would guess there are more ungraded Newfies as well Bosox. I still drool when I recount seeing the " Baldwin's Basement Hoard " of Newfoundland Large Cents mostly 1909 and 1913 but there were a small group of 1872 H as well.

If you keep this thread going Pacificoin then soon you will have the 1912-1914 BOC Gold Coin thread beat for most pages in the Canadian section of this forum.

Certainly don't mind helping anyone with this! Sharpens my skills as well! 1964 fifty cents in 66 3 pieces none higher. As an aside, I know that one of these is in heavy cameo. The best PL s of this date ARE 2 UHC PL 67 coins.
