Your 84 $1 has doubling in the legends as you have pictured but to be a mule it must be a 2000 dated $1 with a smaller obverse which leaves a distinctive double rim. Transparent glue can often look like blobs of metal, as some of our members have discovered. I'm guessing someone made a display featuring this Australian dollar, with the more interesting kangaroo reverse side facing out.
