Hello all, just wandering you thoughts about this one. The reeding does not show the normal copper ring. I took a pic of the reeding with another SBA that shows the copper. It weighs 7.8g wilhich I think is stil within the norm. Thank you for the help.

Hmm, counterfeit or test strike?

Have you counted the reeds on the edge? They look about right, but it's hard to tell from a photo. If the number is the same as for a genuine piece, that's a mark in favour of genuineness. But I would have expected any pieces on test planchets to be Philadelphia products.

Maybe it's just plated? I don't think it's a test piece from the mint.

It is right on the tolerance borderline 8.1 grams +/- .3 grams. It does have an odd look to it, but that may just be the images. I would be thinking either plated, or a counterfeit.
