For those of you who also sell coins, do you have a buyer's ID and a seller's ID both?

I thought it might possibly hurt sales if someone looks back at my feedback and realizes I'm selling a coin I got cheaper than what I'm asking for it.

I've been stockpiling inventory using the ID I've had since 2/99 and started a new ID to sell with. Of course now I'm trying to sell with a zero feedback ID.

I've started with low dollar items listed with the intent of building some feedback rating even at the expense of losing a little bit of money.

My first two sales were rolls of wheaties listed as "searched", and when I rolled them up to mail I added an Indian Head penny to each one, hoping for some enthusiastic feedback.

I would love to have 2 accounts but I don't wanna start over. I have an 82 rating right now and another 15 feedbacks waiting to finish. Personally I wouldn't buy a coin and sell it again because people would see that. I like buying collections and hodgepodge assortments of coins and such.

IMO, everyone that sells should have a separate buying ID.

For one so your buyers' don't know what you've possibly paid for a coin, and two, a retaliatory neg from a seller could crush your sales.

Keep 'em separate.

So I guess from the posts here, there's no way to retain the positive feedback you've previously gained, & carry that over to when you start a new ID for selling only?

I recently got a second ID
First I did not want to have a neg on my 100% buyer feedback because of a copy perfume for my wife or a set of underwear
I even bought wall to wall vinyl in the east
This ID has some of the best goldhouses names of europe in it and I would probably use it 3 to 5 years from now if I wanted to sell some COA boxed stuff . I never sold on this ID

So my second ID is mixed ; selling some stuff I inherited like a 100 year old bedroom and new Astrakan fur and other old stuff still lying around for my brother to take pics
Here postage is killing any deal outside belgium
I also am buying my wifes requests for perfume etc via this ID

If you have a little patience you can have the best of both worlds. After 90 days the details of purchases/sales are not visible via the ebay feedback forum. All you can see is the Userid for the seller and buyer and the comments they left. All links to the auction are gone.
