Those familiar with the U.S. Seated Half series (1839-1891) know that the "no arrows/open 3" variety of the 1873 half is one of the hallmarks of the series and a decent (Fine) example will command a $4500 price. This seller in Germany is offering a "closed 3" coin as an "open 3". This coin should go for about $30~35. Hopefully he/she won't get any bids with a $117 shipping fee. I am just offering this as a primer for ebay buyers. Take nothing at face value and do your research.

Did you report it? If not, why not? Takes about 20 seconds.

Scumbuster

I emailed the seller to allow them to do the right thing. If they don't, I will report it to ebay. There are still 8 days left on this auction.

Well it looks like the seller did the right thing. He/she didn't respond to my email, but the auction has been cancelled.
