Hello Julian, looks like a beauty! Any plans to have it I.C.C.S., slabbed? Glenn

Certainly thinking about though I don't like their slabs as you can't always see the coin that well. I thought it was a high grade and the auction house, which is reputable, said in UK grades EF or better, so that translates to MS in my view....but someone commented XF/Low Au........tell me I'm not going blind please....

I'd say you are definitely not going blind! Nice coin!

Over on another forum they are say 61/62 as the obverse is probably a soft strike which one can mistake for wear.

Scans are a bit blurred for the Reverse Crown jewel area, however, it appears this may be somewhere between and EF-45 -to- AU-55. Glenn

Wonderful coin to add to any collection. An 05 is such a tough date to find in such a nice grade as this one is.... I just love the Reverse in these years..

So far, comments on grade have been over the place, from XF45-MS64. A well known and respected dealer in Canada with 30 years exp said is was well into MS.....so I will just send it for grading and will let you all know 'how the chips fall.'

From the pictures, it's diificult to tell the grade.
I agree with the current 'spread' of au55 to ms64.
My gut tells me it's closer to ms63

Doubleeagle59 agrees with the 63 opined by the Canadian dealer I referred to.

The picture appears lower contrast than what the coin may look to the eye in hand. Whether intentional or not, this can often hide defects but at the same time make a high grade coin look inferior. Got a feeling the nice picture posted doesn't do the coin justice. MS64.
