Didn't hang on to this for long as it will be making its way back to Canada to the home of a well known forum member.

This was a VERY enjoyable thread to read... Marberry thanks for sharing!
A couple of questions:
1) What is a DNW auction
2) If anyone would like to give me tips for negotiation... I really would appreciate. The art of negotiation is something I haven't learned and don't know of anyone who would bestow such a skill set upon me. If you find yourself a good negotiator and would like to share some tips.. please PM me! As I SERIOUSLY need help.. thnx

Know when you have a strong or weak hand to play, deal with the right people, max your profit so you can buy yet more coins but don't be so greedy that you alienate your buyer. They must be happy too and these tenets come from a whole 3 years doing this lol.....just played a weak hand on e-bay as my coin had imperfections that meant I shouldn't have bought it in the first place, so sold at a loss but not too much of one...why fight to hang on to something when you have buyers remorse anyway...

Ohh looking at the coins you're buying and the ones I am.. I don't think we're in the same ball game... I don't think you would have to worry about competition from me..
For the most part I love PM's.. it's easy to find the value.. spot.. plus or minus a premium.. The coins I'm just starting in on.. but loving it so far.. the rich history and interesting variations and errors have really got me motivated but I think I'm just going to start small.
None the less thanks for this thread it was so rich with information I am very grateful for you sharing.

You are very welcome AgCoinAu.....my knowledge isn't great but I too look for variations and types and if I need technical help I often shoot an e-mail to George Manz Coins as he is so helpful and very patient with my often too regular e-mails....plus the folks here of course....I am always surprised about the great Canadian coins that surface here in the UK...

No secret now anyway. When I post coins purchased for discussion there are always those who take delight is broadcasting where I got it from rather than engage in the discussion....this stifles discussion as you may end up not posting anything......mind you, I do like showing off so maybe not........

I agree.
I have to laugh when other posters ask "where do you buy all your nice coins?"
It's none of their business and the question should never be asked in a public forum as it puts you on the spot.
