albertharris Pillar of the Community United States 901 Posts	Posted 10/02/2013 12:37 pm At 1st thought I was dealing with rpm 5. But things didn't match up. Many of the CC die scratch markers for rpm 2 don't match because CC is MDS. Minor tripled upper and lower serifs don't show well, but interior lines of secondary mint marks are note-able. The die crack under nostril, position of mint mark and die scratches around MM, plus faint evidence of reverse die scratch through O on reverse led me to rpm 2 LDS. Report this Post to the Staff

albertharris Pillar of the Community United States 901 Posts	Posted 10/02/2013 4:13 pm If you look at the NW of the mint mark, there is either die break, damage, or die chip in the area of the triple serf. The MM and some of the noteable die scratches (one heading NEE) and exactly same as CC. These and MM position should overlay exactly. The SW of the MM show both minor serfs. Inner outline pattern same as CC rpm 2. Die crack pattern around nose same except die crack on nose more pronounced than one under nostril. I think it is rpm 2 in LDS. Report this Post to the Staff

The only major difference is the lack of triple upper serf. Believe damage or die crack changes this area. Interior secondary MM sure look like 002. Has die crack under nostril like 002. You coin is straight. I would send in one of each example to Bob or Jason to show the later die state markers. Report this Post to the Staff
jcuve Valued Member United States 142 Posts	Posted 10/04/2013 12:44 pm What you have found looks like a RPM with a horizontal bar within the main mintmark. It cannot be 1MM-002 for all the reasons outlined by Coop. I don't see it on Wiles RPM DVD.
