They are still being sold. 250,000 is the limit on the number that can be issued.

Got mine now - like the look of it and the quality of strike is superb. In the latest issue of the Phoenix (Coincraft's price list), Richard Lobel is warning against people buying them and says they are poor value for money and that he would only pay £8.00 for one... Mind you, in the same issue HE is charging £7.50 (plus p+p) for five common VG George V English pennies!

Wow, thanks Richard Lobel.
I suppose we should all just be buying Roman Denari from his shop at £95 per coin.

This has opened up to international orders now so I just picked one up.
£12.50 to ship overseas (Canada).

£12.50 for postage is madness. The coin is only £20!! A letter to 40g is only £1.88

We're used to high postage here so it's not that big a deal to pay the £12.50. I sent a lettermail to Germany and it was $17.10(!) to send it with tracking. A small coin box sent within Canada is usually about $14-18.

Just been informed mine has safely arrived so will get to see it in hand in a couple of weeks. Have already found homes for the other two (at cost) so I get just the one which is all I wanted without any P&P :)

thought id post it to this topic too. Mine came. Pretty nice. Solidly packaged. Not sure whether to sit on my spare 2 or to give it a while. They make a good storage for £20. And my toned one is very nice.

@kwest I've been wanting to purchase coins from the US Mint but their international postage costs are insane. I'm not surprised The Royal Mint behaves equally badly towards foreign buyers.

Westminster coin people are bad news. They'll send you all sorts of junk - they sent me solid silver coins and then demanded payment. Took a lot to get them off my back. Dont touch em with a 40ft barge pole.

I tend agree but interesting how they are going about getting their supply of £20 for £20 coins, since you know they will not be selling them for £20 or £25 each. I have gotten some £5 coins for them for £5 with free postage with no other coins sent (pays to check the terms of the offer). They do attempt to sell other overpriced coins all of them and almost all of those offers say they will send you other coins as well. Nice to know that so far, The Royal Mint is not selling these coins to dealers, otherwise this company would not be trying to buy them from the public. Ken
