That does make me wonder about the collector value of the £20 though. I had assumed that the gigantic mintage pretty much eliminated any chance of the coin going up in value. I suppose if The Royal Mint releases a new £20 every year then this year may be in demand at some point due to it being first of a new series.

Its a popular design - plus, it will never be worth less than £20. I see no issues with it not going up in price really. Worst comes to worst, Ill take them to the bank. The whole buy-for-profit thing is not the best attitude (the canadian NCLT forum is...uhh) but in this case it is a safe investment.

Agreed, should be a 'no-lose' scenario as far as I can see (at least for Brits with no postage on 3 coins!)

I just caved & ordered 3. I have an ongoing collection of non gold St George & Dragon coins & will need to eventually complete the set. I also caved for the RCM St George & Dragon Banknote coin recently released. 72.50 pounds total for 3 to ship to US plus small currency exchange charge from my cc.

I received an email from The Royal Mint last night which said in no uncertain terms that they will be releasing a new £20 for £20 every year, with the design changing each year as well.

I see that Westminstercollection have now withdrawn their buy back scheme. I suspect a few shrewd individuals took advantage of the rather slack way the RM policed it's 'Only three per household' scheme. Anyone wanting more will have taken all of two seconds to realise how to get around this.

I've seen a few sell for around the £20 mark on ebay though, so realising a real profit with these will be hard IMHO.

I flipped a few. I was very impressed with the service. The money was in my paypal account the next day after posting on all occasions.

Just in case someone didn't get an email from them...

The limit of 3 per household has been increased to TEN.
(Limited time only apparently; 'til they run out I imagine)
