Where would be the best place to sell my petition crown copy . I contacted the web site of petitioncrown and they where the ones who told me it was a copy and is still worth something as they had sold one for £1500 at auction . I.ve contacted local dealers who act as if its fake but what i.ve read up on this they was made as a copy for a purpose like fr the museum etc it as all the engraving on the edge not sure what its made of mind they did say it could be pewtersome have been made with silver.

No idea. If you're in London, you could take it to the auction houses for a second opinion.

along those lines, ask for an estimate and send pictures to a few auction houses.

I cant think of a reason for them to be worth that much, but there you go. Id give you £5 for it!

The value will depend on the copy. An electrotype copy will probably sell for the highest amount, because they are the best quality. Museum copies for sale to the public are usually available for a few pounds.

Ok thanks for the info I will have to get it valued and tested first I think . I.m lead to believe its a electrotype coin as they are made in 2 halfs and put together and have the message around rim aswell. Will have to see after christmas about getting it tested and go from there thanks.

Unfortunately I suspect you have a replica made by Dorchesters, selling for £13.
