I wouldn't say quarter since they are 24.3 mm - Other than that, I'm stumped.

Maybe struck on a foreign planchet.

The coil looks different in hand than in the picture. It has a more dull gray color to it,and it has a more high pitched sound when I drop it compared to a normal one.And is there a way I can get it weighed it at a coin shop?I dont have a coin weighing thing. And cant afford one thanks

The cheap method is going to WalMart/Target and going down the kitchen aisle. There might be some scales on display that you can set your coin on.

Which is the thin coin, the '80 or '77. If it's the '80, a SBA planchet is a possibility.

Whatever it is, you likely can turn a profit on it, or keep it for your collection. I'm betting its struck on a foreign planchet.

Possibly struck on stock intended for quarters...meaning the planchet was cut to half dollar size, but was the thickness of a quarter. Unlikely but possible.

I think it may have been struck on a planchet as thick as a quarter. If it were struck on an actual quarter sized one the date, the edge and liberty would have been cut off. Kind of strange
