Hi everyone, I just got a lot of 10 uncleaned Byzantine coins, and one appears to already show a bit of detail...yet it seems as though it has already been cleaned a bit harshly. Is there any way to ID this coin based upon what is visible? I'm still rather new to Byzantine coins, so any help would be appreciated!

Looks like Justin II and Sophia from the Thessalonica mint.

echizento- Wonderful! Thanks! How exactly did you determine that? Are the three letters under the "K" "TES" indicating Thessalonica? And what does the Delta to the right of the "K" mean? Thanks!

The Delta means the 4th workshop of the Thessalonika mint.

I've been collecting Byzantine coins for a long time and coins of Justin II are pretty easy to ID. The letter K means the coin is a half follis or 20 nummi. If there was a M it would be a follis or 40 nummi.
