Don't worry, it not worth much. Seriously, who in their right mind would pay over $20 for it? It's a $1 coin in a $5 holder. Get a grip.

It has nothing to do with "right mind". Who would pay $4000 for a reverse proof gold Buffalo, just because it has an ANA label. But they did and they are still on ebay for close to that. For that matter, who would pay $4,000,000 for a nickel ?

Bottom line is people want what other people can't get regardless of the value. I would wait until they buzz gets going, there are still many many people who don't even know they exist. These will spike in value in the coming years, thgey will probably drop just as fast, but there is a substantial profit to be made . Only 500 ? Yes there will be people all over these. IMHO, Right mind or not.

I want to keep it but I am more of a financial investment collector than a numismatist so I am torn between defining the market while hot

I would sell it soon while the threads are still active about it on the different forums. Once the buzz dies down of the next thing comes out like that the value will drop.

You made your point the first post, you dont like it we get it. You however dont control a market. Dont like it dont buy it, but dont act like your personal opinion is stated fact when its not. Thats called giving bad advice.

There was one for sale on the PCGS message boards this week. It got one offer from all the PCGS aficionados most of whom re-sell PCGS products. I'm sure the seller got $10 or $15 for it. They know it's a marketing gimmick worth under $20. If you can't see that then list it on ebay and see if you can find a sucker to buy it. No I don't set the markets, I am familiar with the thousands of PCGS pieces they label and sell however. This one's worth $20.

EDIT: Here's a pic of the one put up for sale Monday on the PCGS message boards. No replies and one offer received from the top PCGS dealers in the country. Must be a red hot item worth thousands of dollars!

Yeah, get a grip on your $20 slab.

I just noticed they don't seem to be individually numbered(like 1 of 500, 2 of 500, 3 of 500...so on and so forth till 500 of 500). For me that takes away a lot of the neatness factor.

Am I missing something? Did they actually grade the coin or assign a serial number?

I think what PCGS did was ruin the slab...

@BH, Why so hard on him? He's new so I'd take an easy.
