It looks genuine to me and the open 3 variety. MS IMO. If anything, at least MS Details.

Great find

PCGS charges $49 to become a member and generally around $20 per coin for slabs.

Is that a scratch on the obverse at about 1:00? If it is it would probably get a details grade and wouldn't be worth the expense.

When I first saw it, it looked like a pencil mark?

Don't know.

That's a nice coin to find in a cull lot! I'm bad at grading MS coins from pics.
"It looks genuine to me and the open 3 variety." I think you're thinking of 1873? I don't see any varieties.

Does anybody think the mark at 1 o'clock will give it the dreaded uncirculated details. I examined it close and it doesn't appear to be a scratch. It is on the surface,
