Hi -- my first large cent metal detecting and would greatly appreciate your comments. I think it's the 2nd hair style not sure about the Sheldon # or grade.

Though it has suffered environmental damage the coin is actually in great shape for a dug copper. Most of the ones I find at parks in the New England area do not hold up as well. I would not clean that coin beyond what may have been done to remove any surface soil. Attempting to do so will likely expose the underlying corrosion the patina is covering. An excellent find for sure! In my opinion, that coin would grade AU-details.
Rest in Peace

Thanks everyone! I almost passed out when I realized what it was. I've been telling my digging buddy forever that I wanted to find a large cent, but never expected this. Found in sandy soil near Savannah GA.

Again, I appreciate your time and kind comments -- thank you!
