i have a lot of 68 quarters all have very slim edging. seems thicker on one side to the other.

Ya, it's slightly off center, maybe by 3% or so. Also has the look of silver but I can't say from just pics. Nice coin but IMO still worth spot/face.

thanks for info. all my 68 quarters are silver they all way 5.8 plus grams.

i don't believe weight has anything to do with silver content..

im not reffing to quantity of silver. they have 68 quarters that are nickel.higher silver content went to 1967

Hey Rezin,

I am not an expert but I do have a few 1968 Cnd quarters. I have compared different 1968's and there is a very visible difference in the nickel versions compared to the 50% silver ones. From your pictures it looks to me like this is a silver one. Not sure but I think they started phasing to nickel about half way through the year. Thanks for posting because I never noticed the offset before, will look at mine again next trip to the safe deposit box.
