This show was my first ever coin collectors show.
I was overwhelmed by the choices...and the very informative vendors.
I had only a short time to browse.
I walked away with three foreign banknotes from Cyprus and Greece and a Morgan dollar-very friendly folks - looking to have far more time next time...
Wondering if this Coin show returns in the fall or is it once a year in May?
Wondering if any one got something unique for their collection?

Sounds like a good time was had by all...

Given that I was outbid on EVERY ONE of the items in the G.B. auction and I wasn't able to attend... I respectfully request pictures of all new acquisitions from this coin show please... by any willing members...

C'mon now show me some shiney!

Speaking as a collector, this is Canada's best coin show. The venue is gorgeous, lots of open areas, areas for collectors to sit and chat, without leaving the bourse, and great educational presentations. A great place to meet with old friends and new friends, Canada's best coffee downstairs, and a pub just down the street.

Speaking as a coin dealer, this is Canada's best coin show. The security is fantastic, because besides the coin show security, there is also the security system of the Toronto Reference Library. A very professional run show, with a fantastic auction.

It was nice meeting some new CCF members who came up to my table, having a good long chat with Bill Cross, and of course, spending the weekend with old friends. The Bells host an excellent auction - I was lucky enough to win 4 of the 5 pieces I wanted, including the three 1-cent error lots. Next show is in early October, and I will be there.

SPP is right on all counts here..

I was impressed at how easy it was easy do discuss coins with so much space and privacy offered around you. Quiet discussions available and a beautiful venue and easy to travel to,.. and easy to exit the city because of it's perfect location. Win...win.....

...nickelsguy...Thanks..!! And I will always be grateful for the special time you gave on how to accurately grade my George V nickels. D

I attended this show over the weekend, and noticed that most dealers were using the same locking display cases. Where can they be purchased? I can't find any info on them online. Thanks.

Anyone? I really need to buy a few cases, and can find nothing online.

Try here:

They even sell them on ebay

In southern Ontario, you could try contacting Ted Bailey, from Ted's Collectables. He used to bring them into Canada to sell to dealers - but I don't know if he has any more. Ted also sells the red and black slotted inserts that you see inside the cases. Ted Bailey, telephone 519-442-3474 or toll-free 1-866-747-2646, email tedscollectables@bellnet.ca

Ted also runs the Paris, Ontario, show in August.

Thanks SPP-Ottawa. I was hoping to find something locally (gta) or at least within Canada.. I'll reach out to Ted Bailey.

This show was really well run, along with great facilities, but the above quote I don't agree with. It took me forever to get there and back from the west end

Randy showed a link to excellent cases - they seem to be the standard for Canadian coin shows.

I like the thinner ones that open on the short side (back to front), I have two model #175G - 22" x 34" x 2" cases I use for shows (hinged on 22" side, optional handle) . You can fit two in a small box and I like opening the cases from the back. They are half the thickness of a normal case.

Come to my table at the fall show - and I can show you the cases I use.

Well twoplustwo...It's time to sometimes park the car and rely on accessible and quick "public transportation".

Win..win for me with the metro a few steps away and the GO Train ..the quick exit from TO...

I'm used to being jammed in Montreal traffic and impossible and costly parking ....but not if I can avoid it ...and this was an easy one for me this time...

Agreed, but not very cost effective since the wife came with.. $9 each for the Go (each way) then $3 each for the TTC (again each way). Almost $50 total to use public transportation vs $6 parking at the Bay + gas + traffic headache.

My only TCE auction win, 1941 25 cents (ICCS MS-65):

Toronto-Coin-Expo---May-30-31-2014---Canada's-Coin-Show!

Toronto-Coin-Expo---May-30-31-2014---Canada's-Coin-Show!

This one is die crack city, with obverse cracks running from the O to the second G of GEORGIVS, and from the N of IND to the M of IMP.
