That's not necessarily true of all issues. The coin pictured above is a 1921-P VAM-41B Morgan, carrying a bit of value-added in any grade and getting pretty hefty in the highest grades. The 41A version - having the pitting but lacking the die polishing - would likely command
serious money, if you could find one (they're pretty scarce).
