Quote: Can anybody give input if Stacks&Bowers is just as good as Heritage? I am really considering Stacks&Bowers offer. I just dont want to leave money on the table if it could yeild more at Heritage. First, congratulations on the find! Amazing pickup. I cannot give you input on which is better for higher end coins (I only drool all over their sites) but I would advise considering putting a reserve in place, just in case, for whatever reason, the bidding does not go to where you would like it. I remember a new user a while back finding a CC during a dig and we thought it was in the $10k plus range. I was shocked to see it hammer at a little over $5k. Needless to say the seller was extremely disappointed. You may consider asking Stacks and Heritage about their reserve policies, putting in a second auction if it does not get to the reserve, etc, and that may help guide you in making your final decision. ANNNNDDDDD, make sure to let us know when it goes to auction! I would love to follow it.

Thank you Mike Diamond. After very careful consideration I have decided to go another route. I took into account opinions from everyone before reaching this decision. I feel at this point this coin is in better hands at Stacks&Bowers. They have been incredibly helpful and thoughtful of not only myself but Heritage as well. They did counter offer I was able to secure 100% of hammer and free reserve. But more importantly they would like to take a closer look at the coin. Possibly bring it personally to PCGS because they along with Mike Diamond believe the coin is possibly a collar mule. Hopefully things work out to be correct on this point. You have all been a pleasure to work with and feel free to watch the coin in auction the first week of Nov. if you so choose do to so. Thank you again it has a been a pleasure to talk with you.

Thank you Vermon and you have one heck of a great family. One last request I will be making before sending coin in morning is that Stacks&Bowers gives a shout out! Discovered by CCF!

I know this may be a day late and a dollar short, but.....based on my experience with auctions, auctions seem to get higher prices in January than they do in November. I know you already stated that you are going with S&B but the timing of the Heritage auction seems better placed to generate top prices....just my 2ยข

Thank you all. Stacks&Bowers should be putting out the ad soon. Once I get the copy I will post it here for you all. Getting close to auction time. Online auction starts 2 weeks before the OCT 29-NOV 1 auction.
