From what I have learned on this forum, I would say it has not been cleaned.

I see a heavily toned/tarnished coin that may have been buries at some time. Problem-free IMO.

I see no evidence of ED that would indicate burying. A coin that has been buried is typically much darker unless cleaned due the effect of the acids in the soil on the silver.

Is there a chance this quarter could have been cleaned say forty or fifty years ago and handled or stored in the right conditions to create this kind of tarnishing? I'm just curious as I'm trying to learn... To me it looks a little too clean. But I could be totally wrong here.

There is little doubt it has been cleaned but it grade as Market Acceptable for problem-free. It looks like a weakly struck VF that is not worth the cost of certification.

It looks that it has not been cleaned at least looking the photos but it is toned and maybe one can find hairlines under the patina looking it with a good magnifier.

It looks as though it may have been cleaned some time ago.

Maybe dipped at some point in the distant past but not harshly cleaned. Looks market acceptable IMO.

I'd like to buy all your "cleaned" seated material with this look and color, for problem-coin prices. Thanks.

I say cleaned, looks a bit dull/hazy.

Ha! Technically all coins with this kind of wear were "cleaned" at one time in a cotton pocket or something.. As long as it wasn't "recently".. Agree with Chasingtailbar.. Problem free from here.

From these pics, it looks like a small chance it was gently cleaned a long time ago but now has nice eye appeal,IMHO. John1

probably cleaned a long time ago, nothing to suggest it would detail grade today. Most coins have been cleaned or dipped at one time in the past.
