Hi everyone, I just joined the site here a few days ago. I was a coin collector as a high school kid in the late 70s, and stopped when I got to college. I finally went back into my safety deposit box at the bank to check on my coins, and make a new list of what I had (as the old paper list disappeared). And I wanted to post my 1909s VDB, and see what grade folks think it might be. Thanks. PS I don't think I dusted off the coin very well before photographing it. Sorry about that. I can a shoot another photo if it interferes too much. Also, I can try different lighting -- I wasn't sure what the best way was to photograph coins so that you can see the detail.

Here is mine. I got it raw from a reputable local dealer a few years ago, but all diagnostics check out (type and location of the S, style and location of the VDB letters, etc..). It has an old cleaning, but I got a good deal on it and sometimes you take what you can get. I have it in a complete Dansco Lincoln book.

Finally went to the bank and got set #1 of 10 and brought it back home. I have presently 10 sets of Lincoln Cents all complete. Here is a photo of page 1 of set #1. Entire set #1 looks like this which is why I keep it in a Safe Deposit box.

Come on Carl, I think you just wasted a trip to the bank. I think you need to better keep track of your coin photos. I've seen you post a picture of this page at least once or twice before. Keep folders of your coin photos and you won't have to keep making these trips to the bank! Anyways, lovely album!

Don't know how I missed this initial thread, but glad it has re-surfaced! Here is my raw S-VDB that I purchased off of a co-worker for $500. It was his father's and it was in a safety deposit box since the 1950s. He sold it to me a few years after his father passed away. A good friend and penny mentor to me graded it F15. It's somewhere in the ballpark...

RIP John Brawner
I hope that I will be able to join the club this year. I am just now feeling the need to get a 1909-1958 book to put my coins in. I have a few rolls of wheats but only 40 different ones. I have made my mind up this is the set that I will focus on this year. Truth be told it has taken me 10 years to collect the 40 that I have. My local coin store has the big 3 I think I will wait to make those the very last 3 I pick up. If I cant find them somewhere else at a good rate I will trade some silver for them,a lot of silver lol...
