http://www.ebay.com/itm/27174560391...RK:MEBIDX:ITJust bought this listing for $115 which is $35 over melt I believe. Checked out the return policy and I cam able to return within 2 weeks so I figured I'd give it a shot. There are 3 Type 1 quarters. 2 are obviously 1917 but the 3rd gives me a hint of 1916. Will check it out when it arrives. What do you guys think? First picture, right above the Washington quarter.

Looks like it has the right diagnostics but I can't tell with the robe behind the wall. It's supposed to have the long crease but I can't tell.

Well....
When put that way it sounds kinda messed up. Will probably keep them regardless then. I do have a soft spot for SLQ's anyway.
However, I will return if the quarters aren't as pictured. I doubt that will happen though, since this guy is just an antique dealer and no sly coin guy.

I had this on my saved list but after blowing up the photo's it did not appear to be the 16 Type1. I did not see the crease extending and the wrap around the arm was too worn to tell. the photo is too mushy around those areas that would pin point it. The lower leg and gown appear promising, but once you have it in hand you can closer inspect the drapery line and the wrap on the arm.
I am hoping you have it! good luck!

Thanks RK55!
Yeah the photo is a little mushy and I do have my doubts but I figured I'd take a risk. $30 loss was worth the possibility of a $1,000 gain. And if the photos of these dateless quarters were always clear, it would be impossible to pick up a 1916 for cheap.
I'll post a picture when it arrives.

I blew up the photo on my 1916 T1 no date, arrows show what it should look like in that area. The wrap is usually a great pick up point along with the crease as it usually is visible down to PO1. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I looked at it and do not think it is. Ankle drapery too rounded but, can't see the wrap RK55 is talking about.
Good luck!

The ankle drapery was on the edge for me. And from RK55's photo, looks like I got the wrap of the 1917. Must just be a really well worn 1917 because the shield rivets are gone along with the lines in the walls. Those usually stay pretty obvious in a 1917 even when well worn.
Thanks for the replies and opinions guys. I'm pretty confident it's a 1917 but it'll still be fun to check out. Plus, i'll keep this bad boy as a good dateless in hand reference.
