@JimmyD, I paid a lot for my 1957 ICCS 66 Cameo.....almost as much as I paid for a 1957 NGC PL 67 that ICCS deemed a PL 65 no cameo

tripoli- Yea, I guess it would be expensive. I paid enough for my 57 no cameo and it was on sale.

@thedollarman, in my limited experience I would think the PL67 looks like more like a high MS

under the haze there appears to be a cameo but the haze would stop me from buying it. but what scares me is look on her neck!

the hair I can forgive sometimes cause its never struck well and tends to show marks from the original planchet but yeah shes pretty busy, add the tree hits to the mix and you have what I would call unacceptable in a grade higher than 63 or 64.

One of the grading points is how complete the strike is on her bare shoulder....no little pit marks...however that doesn't explain the apparent vertical scratch on her neck...the grader was feeling a bit generous.

Hello,
I bought this coin and am relatively pleased with the price. It is the only one graded at this level and I have the PCGS All Time Best Canadian Pl dollar set.
I used to buy ICCS but won't touch them anymore, except for original, matched early Pl sets.. ICCS Pl dollars used to sell a t a 1-1.5 grade premium over PCGS but that premium seems to have collapsed since the grader has changed and grade inflation appears obvious (at least in my subjective opinion).
I have a number of "best graded" by ICCS Pl dollars but they ave lost 2/3 of their value (or more), I think because of this, in the last few years. I have bet I lost $75K on ICCS Pl dollars because of this.
PCGS values appear to have been much more stable, probably because they use multiple graders on all coins.
This coin is a knock out, better then the only 1953 Pl69 or any of the many other PL68s in my collection......Miles above the several Pl67 1949s I have handled.
By the way.... anyone out there know where the one PCGS 1955 Arn Pl68 is?
Thanks,
SMK

to CCF stevekuznicki I had seen your registry set on PCGS, very impressive. Just need to hunt down that elusive 1964 upgrade My sentiments with respect to ICCS and PCGS echo yours, but our opinions are a minority here.

Ive never really had a huge problem with pcgs but when I went to the polish cultural show down here in Mississauga I picked through a 30 or something percent off bin that had a ton of pcgs high grade pl 1964 dollars all of which had lots of contact marks...that's what put me off of pcgs graded pl dollars. It turned out later on that the table belonged to M. Finley.

Hello thedollarman,
I'll try to post pictures Tuesday.
I think I understand your comment on the "table" but don't want to comment.

I'm not sure what you're saying about the table but hey, whatever right. Lol. Does the coin in hand have a cameo contrast or a full mirror bust?

Hello thedollarman,
I'll put up pictures Tuesday (when I get back to my office) but it is blast white with mirrors so deep that you can see you face clearly standing 3-4 feet from the coin. It is also an early graded coin (OGL) which makes its total lack of toning remarkable.
