That's a beauty glad you finally got it. I don't know what going on in the UK with coins there has been a few packages from MetDet that I have never received. They are either being snatched up by some nefarious postal workers or seized by customs.

Wow! I bet all frustration eroded away when you saw this coin. Were provincial drachms struck at the same fineness as Imperial denarii, or at a lesser fineness?

Indeed worth waiting for! @ augustus: I'mnot sure, I know that the drachms from caesarea were tariffed 1:1 with the denarius while most other drachms were tariffed as 1:0,75 denarius.. And it has been adjusted in fineness and weight in the third century so the exchange rate would be the same as the debased denarius in that time. Due these facts I dont think they were continiously struck at a lesser fineness.

6 months has to be some kind of record. I have waited for 2 months for a coin from Spain. I am currently on month 2 for a package for GB.

I have had the odd one turn up late. (but not many). Indeed, recently TIF was worried about one of hers when it was 'late', but I believe that it arrived safely. D.G. Nice coin!
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing some troubles with the post from the U.K., Ski. Is this a 'historical' or a recent thing? If it is a recent thing do you think that it is getting worse or just one of those 'one in a million' things?
