When the bank told me the SQs still hadn't come in I decided to grab a few rolls of these dollars for the heck of it.
On one coin I found some cracks and marks that I thought was interesting. For all I know these marks may be common on this coin.

First pic has a large crack on the dollar sign and other marks that may be cracks too.

Second has marks under her armpit

Thirs pic has a horn-like crack coming out of her crown.

I don't think those are die cracks...

look at the armpit- that looks like an eye, I am pretty am pretty sure those are clash marks. Is that a GW $1?

One way to tell better would be to take a straight-on photo of the whole coin with the obverse of another dollar matched up beside it.

Hi

Yes, it is a die clash. Refered to as "Extra Spike" liberty.
it is considered a minor error. I guess they state minor because the #'s found are in the thousands. I would keep one or two of them
and wait and see in a yr. or two what the final word may be on them.
No loss on value anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I agree that they are not die cracks except for the one coming straight up from the dollar sign. I just didn't know what to call the other marks and I wasn't sure if clash marks were innies or outties:0 The first one I mentioned I am pretty sure sure (not absolutely) is a crack. I will try getting better pics of that one.

It is GW. Here is another pic that I think will give a better idea of what this is. It doesn't seem to resemble clash markings.

So then I guess in the final analysis everyone believes the mark above the dollar sign is a clash mark and not a die crack? I would just like final confirmation after I posted new pic. Thanks.

Look at the obverse of your GW $1, particularly the left side of the face where that flip of hair creates a crease by the cheek- that is your reverse clash mark by the $ sign

The mark between the $ and the 1 is from George's Eye. Look on George's Chin and you should see marks from Liberty's crown. I have several missing edge inscriptions and they also have these two same clash marks. Once you know what they are, they are very easy to spot.
