I've never seen this type of error before, why would wire be present at the mint? Would this more likely be a shaving from a rim and the term wire error be just the appearance left? Cool error none the less, and in good condition, I'm guessing AU.

I think aardspeed means struck through wire. The Mint uses wire cleaning brushes and sometimes a loose bristle makes its way to the dies.
