Grade, Please.... 1911 Barber Half Dollar

I won't quibble about the letters in liberty but the scratch through the mouth, the reverse, and the rim dings provide enough detractions to pull it under F for me. The 1914 Barber half I sent in with SuperDave's group PCGS submission has almost identical wear and PCGS gave that coin a VG-10. This coin is solid for that grade. Report this Post to the Staff
Susanlynn9 Forum Mom United States 5877 Posts	Posted 10/31/2007 09:08 am I agree with the VG10 grade. This is one of the coins whose grading standards changed to be more "market-friendly". By the old standards, LIBERTY needs to be complete in order to make Fine. I still grade by those standards. Yours is a solid VG10 in my book and very attractive for the grade.
