2011 Half Golden Penny - Coin Community Forum

canadiancoinaholic Valued Member Canada 137 Posts	Posted 03/25/2015 3:52 pm I bought a buddies collection and this was in it. its a 2011 penny its normal copper on one side ,the edge of the coin and the rim of the obverse , but from there in on the obverse its golden. any ideas as to why? canadiancoinaholic Valued Member Canada 137 Posts	Posted 03/25/2015 6:48 pm If it was chemically toned wouldn't the whole penny be toned or at least the complete obverse , the rim is still copper as well as the whole reverse .Im curious what would you use to chemically treat a penny to turn it gold.
