After seeing the Dollarman's error coin from '63, I checked
my PL dollars from 1959 to 1963 and the "Ray through C" is
on those PL's from 1960 to 1963. Dollarman mentioned
something about a re-hubbing of the reverse dies, I think
it happened for the 1960 PL strikes as he had suggested.

Touch ups occurred in 1960 and further touch ups in 1961. Don you can have a ton of fun with The silver dollar series . There is usual something going on with all of the dates.

, there is a lot of fun in the dollars although they don't seem to have been researched as in depth as large cents and provincials for each die used. I think you would have fun with the 2012 Charlton, the dollar variety section is lots of fun but not near complete.

In 1960, the Waterlines and Northern Lights were recut as they had become weak. (Almost non-existant)
All 60-63 including the business strikes have the the
lines running through the "C".
In 65 & 66 the lines no longer ran through the "C".

Yes Pacificoin, from '35 to '67 and into the
.500 silver '71 to Present day 9999, it's always a
different variety or quirk. So many details. Thanks for the
info on the die touch ups, into '61. Having fun going
through them and learning about the details. Thanks to you
more experienced CCFers for providing the finer
points.

Dollarman - I will have to pick up the 2012
Charlton and take a look at that section. It seems that
dollar die varieties and their details should be well
researched seeing as they only started making them in '35
and had that hiatus for the WWII years, other denominations
like 50 Cent have been thoroughly researched.

And JimmyD, I could hardly get a focus on the
rays on the 1959, they were that faded, so I can see a
dramatic new cut in the 1960 reverse lines. I didn't know
that business strikes also had the Ray through C. Very neat.

Thanks for the comments, happy to learn more about these
coins.
