koinpro Pillar of the Community United States 1781 Posts	Posted 05/27/2015 12:31 pm Ok, it's not exactly an RPM -- well not even close but it is what is called Dropped Design (among other terms) due to the die cavity of the D being filled with debris (probably grease) and falling out like jello from a bowl onto a planchet and then being struck in. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 05/28/2015 1:53 pm Problem is in 1974 if you have a filled mintmark making it into a "P" coin no one would know it. What I find more interesting are the 1968, 69, and 70 "P" nickels from filled or polished away mintmarks that no one pays any attention to. (Philadelphia didn't make nickels in those years, but business strike coins with no mintmark do exist.) Report this Post to the Staff
