Austrokiwi,

I have no doubts that would be a great improvement, but $400 is a bit steep.

Rmpsrpms,

I'm certainly interested... Could you kindly assist me? I assume that I could you use this with my phone?

I found that raising the coin off the background by about an inch (I use a small section of wooden dowel) caused the background to become really out of focus, which is very handy if you want to recolor the background with a simple click "fill".

also, the lighting and focus don't seem to be "fooled" by the texture of the background - it's all about the coin which appears to be floating in mid air.

enjoy your riksdaler, photography is a whole 'nother hobby !

my experia has an app for blurring the background... It might be worth a try ( I assume all Xperia phones have that app)
