For fun, this one was posted last week in the NCLT forum... and whoosh... right over their heads, no one even blinked... I sometimes wonder why I even post in there... To me, this is a pretty big error, with ALL of the eye appeal and wow factor. Admittedly, it may have had a helping hand, because 4 are known to exist (this one is second finest). It is struck on a nickel 50-cent planchet (probably intended for a Proof-like or Specimen set). I absolutely love it, and will be safely tucked inside the safety deposit box for decades to come. It is currently mounted in a cool PCGS double slab, with the normal $100 coin beside it. I am currently looking for a better PCGS 1977 gold coin to upgrade the set.

Well that is the coolest off metal error I have ever seen! Awesome. It will certainly be appreciated here on this forum. I love the double slab too!

I would have to think it had a helping hand from someone at the mint not even the right color for a gold coin I would think it would have been noticeable. But also a great find on your part Congrats

Quote: how did you get it and how do you make PCGS give you that double slab 1. A coin dealer sold it to me. 2. PCGS will double slab coins on demand, for a price.
