Cascade,
Those pictures are awesome ! I usually make my annualpilgrimage to Carson City every August to meet with the Carson City Coin Collectors of America and visit my coin mecca the Carson City Mint. I love the historical documents in the pictures you posted and I have some of my very own in my Carson Mint Collection. Someday when I learn how to post pictures I will share some of the Mint's documents photos with members of this forum. Unfortunately this year I will not be able to make it out west but the paln is for next year in August for sure.
Thanks again for sharing your trip with us

Numisma & all... here is my collection of 5 different coins minted on the press. I like the BBQ one because it was signed by the governor & only 100 were produced. But my favorite is my Freemont because I watched it being struck and surreptitiously licked my thumb and stuck a hair to it then touched the planchet and spit stuck the hair on it to see what would happen and it came out as a raised Strikethrough going through the date! So my dna is embedded in it! How freakin cool is that...

And a few other cool things at the museum!... see that dry gold sluice, I have one I picked for $200 that was appraised at $2500-3000. It's in my living room because I like it too much to sell ... (it's called a dry gold sluice because it uses air via a bellows instead of water to separate the materials)

Looks like there is a lot more history there than I thought. Might be worth the trip one day. Until then, I will just enjoy your photos.
