Came up with it on the fly as I was writing it
Thought it was a pretty good analogy myself when I was done!

srs77, very nice pick ups, Congrats on the milestone, and most important awesome to do that with your dad so close to fathers day. I was at the same show (only my second)and it was a perfect size show. Not to intimidating, a good mix of raw and slabbed coins.

You've got it all wrong Cascade, Peace dollars are like that beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated girl that everyone overlooks because they are too busy chasing, drooling and draining their bank account in pursuit of the "popular girl"

Congrats on completing your set. I am still looking for the right 1921 and 1928 for my set. It is a double edged sword, it is fun searching for the right coins, but I am not looking forward to writing the check

Perotti31, congrats on the age milestone! I'm nearing the 60 mark (hard to believe and say) but both of my kids, while interested, not entirely so. They both come to the shows with my dad and I from time to time but I think there is too much going on in their lives right now to be 'all in' as I am I guess. I anticipate that in time they'll get the bug just as I did when my dad got me interested. It's really nice to have three generations of the family at one show. Some of the dealers there recognize us as we do go three times a year to this location. Great fun and a great time to spend with my dad and their grandfather.

Actually, he picked out a couple of coins he wanted that I treated him to. He had an 1883-O Morgan dollar and a Seated Liberty half dollar he wanted to add to his collection. I had him pick out what he wanted which he did and then I added some much needed supplies and all of that became his Father's Day gift. It's become a tradition for us to take him, myself and my two boys. Unfortunately only one could make it this year be we still had a great time. The coins I posted here were what I added to my collection. He selected a BU 1883-O Morgan and an XF-45 1856-O Seated Liberty Half that he liked.

After the show we go out for lunch or dinner depending on when we leave the show and it's just boys day out for us. We eat and look at our purchases and of course discuss them in great detail

It's something I really look forward to with him.
