I snapped some photos of my 1916 Mercury last night. I picked up a huge lot of Mercs recently, and this is one that stands out to me.

Give me your thoughts on grade when you have a minute.

Thanks again for your opinions!

boy that's a seriously good looking coin

MS65 again

i don't like the look on the lower band. everything I read and have been taught states that all 3 bands MUST be full and complete with no flaws to be determined FB. On both coins you have pictured I am not seeing that in some variation. What am I missing that you others members are seeing?

And believe me, I am not trying to kill the notion that these are FB, I am trying to expand my working knowledge of the subject and would appreciate the insight from those that see FB.

Only the middle bands have to show full separation. The top and bottom bands do not have an affect on FB designation.

I had no clue. I have looked at my coins for years thinking all three. And now I am going back reassess my collection! Weekend project

And I swore I read it somewhere but just looked at PCGS (I've never read their section) and indeed they do mention only the central bands.
