Hey guys, I'm thinking of possibly getting a monster box or two soon for the SDB and want opinions on the best place to get them. If online I'm think about JM Bullion, has anybody bought a large quantity from them before? And if I go with them should I wire the $ or use cc to mitigate risk of non fulfillment Another option which I haven't looked into yet is a place about 45mins from me that is on the Mint authorized dealer list Also, what about at a large show like Long Beach? Are monster boxes to be had there at competitive prices? Basically, I want to find the best price with the lowest risk obviously and need opinions from people that have bought MB's before. I dunno about how wise it is to buy that much silver in these times but hey its your money!
What I did want to say tho regarding your question is with a purchase that size, I would only do a credit card purchase for protection and having the bank on my side.

I would wait and see if sub-$9000 Monster boxes come along in the next year but that's just me though because a lot of people think silver prices have bottomed this cycle and they might be right. I still feel $13 is in the cards and wouldn't pay $19/ounce for an ASE today. |

If you have a 1.5% cash back credit card you would get back 150 bucks. Thats the route I would go.

Normally I would never recommend buying a quantity of bullion using a credit card but tbolts10 suggestion isn't a bad one. If you've got a cash back card, it'll offset a portion of the higher commission cost that dealers require with a credit card purchase. Most importantly, you'll have some recourse with your credit card issuer if your bullion dealer/seller fails to deliver on your purchase.

I've had good luck purchasing monster boxes of American Silver Eagles and Canadian Silver Maples from Goldmart.com. They can be a bit slow to ship at times, but they usually have the best prices around. |

You would need a monster SDB to hold it! But the CC I got from TDBank have a 5% cash reward for 6 months purchases and a $200 reward after spending just $500. The offer end last month, but you may find better return like no interest for 12-18 months. Plus the extra 1% cash back.

Yup! I used the 5% reward to pick up a few silver and smaller gold pieces.
The CC is used on almost every normal daily transactions, (etc; food, gas, home fixtures, etc) just be sure to pay the statement balance every month. Then I would used another CC like Chase Freedom for another 3 months that also has the 5% reward on certain transactions, and the cycle continues...

Thanks for all the advise guys. Looks like silver is on its way down right now. Yup's predictions may be coming true as it has broke $14.33 and then some. I wonder what will happen in the next week or two, or the next day or two even |

The premiums are just too high right now. I'm waiting until they go down to where they were a few months ago.

The high premiums are caused by a difference between the current market price and the futures price. Things will get back in line in the near future.
