Sorting notes for a family member and came across this guy. I put it in the holder if you were wondering. I'm not so good with grading notes so any input is welcome!

the edges look straight and it looks like there is some stiffness still in the paper.

Hold it up to a light bulb and see if there are any pinholes, those are definitely important.

The horizontal and vertical folds are dissapointing but not deal breakers, still a beauty.

Great note! I'd grade it VF20 maybe VF25.

This is a wish list type note for me as well. This one faces up nicer than the back. Nice paper!

Agree, the reverse holds it back, but I could see VF-20.

Interesting side note -- the chief depicted on this SC is Running Antelope, leader of the Hunkpapa tribe. As it happens, I bought a postcard with his portrait just yesterday. He died in 1896, a few years before the $5 note was issued. Here's a less flattering likeness of him without his war bonnet.

That's a cool piece of art you have there GA. I'll do a little research on him. thanks for posting everyone. I picked the Red Book for US Currency because there are a few more notes. Anyway, the VF-20 description seems to fit the SC. i'll post a few more interesting notes soon
