You just recover from Christmas and wham!, valentine's day comes around. From a guy's standpoint, this is nothing but a racket promoted by the greeting card and flower industry.

After all, the dollars spent for woman against dollars spent for us guys is probably 100 to one! No sir, not me...not going to going to get suckered by the valentine's racket ever again. As for my significant other, she agrees with me that what I give and get would be a wash...so the money can go to things that wouldn't die in 2 days...like coins!

Ha! Maybe so. But I can remember being alone for many years before meeting my wife, and at least for me personally, getting sucked into the Hallmark-driven consumerism is better than the alternative was.

Well lets see, 80 to 100 dollars every two weeks for coins,,, 1200.00 a year ,no complaints from my wife, I think I can spend 200.00 dollars once a year to send her to the beauty shop for the works whatever that is in the mind of a woman ? hair ,nails ,whatever,,, Valentines day is what makes my coin collecting work !!!

I agree with the flowers thing , waste of money !!!

Of course this may not work for everyone but it does for me !!!

Some of us women aren't too thrilled with Valentine's day either. Especially those of us who split up with our spouses right after this blasted holiday... Granted, I'm much better off without him, but the holiday is still not my favorite day. Just give me chocolate and no one gets hurt!
