Is this what they call a mule? Does anyone know how much it would be worth? The front side is completely normal but the back side is is blank except for a small piece in the middle that looks normal.

sadly, it is damaged. the area around that small area was ground down. weigh it...it should way much less than a regular one.

To CCF newtocoins 1993! From my perspective, thedollarman is correct . Unfortunately, this coins only value will be whatever it's worth to you as an oddity. But, I must admit, I'd be surprised if it popped up in my pocket change. I hope you have a lot of fun here at CCF. Jack

Yes, it was ground down. Based on the circular nature of the damage, perhaps it was done on some sort of lathe?

A mule is a coin where the two sides bear designs that aren't supposed to go together, often from different denominations. Notable mules include cent/dime mules and small dollar/quarter mules.
