The main question I have is: Am I seeing a thread or some lint or other foreign material between the Proof and the plastic? I am leaning towards strike throughs since there appears to be a shadow - especially on the one beneath the L.
Any ideas?

Actually looks to be frosted like the devices . I am thinking it was a die scratch or something before even the strike?

Thanks for taking a stab at this. I think that the frosted appearance is just reflection. The one above the head seems to have a jagged appearance along its edges and the one at the L appears smooth along the edges.

It may have been thread or sometimes cello clippings. But not a plus for the coins. The one above the head may be a die crack?

I don't think you could be certain of what those "scratch lint die mark thingies" are, unless you opened it to check. I'd have one of those little air blowers to get rid of the lint, if that's what they are.
