OrDirtDevil Valued Member United States 214 Posts	Posted 01/30/2008 03:56 am I have a 1972 set of Canadian Olympic coins in the box. I don't mess with scrap values much but I do have some old dimes and quarters I have saves over the years in G-VG cindition I was offered 11.5x face on. So that got me thinking about this old set hidden away. They say they are 92.7% silver. Thats 2.7% higher then US 90% coins are. So if a dime with a 10 cent face is getting $1.16 what would these canadian $5 and $10 coins bring. Do you go on face value or actual ounces per coins. The $5 is .72 ounces and the $10 are 1.44 ounces each. I think thats about 4.2 ounces for the sets. Report this Post to the Staff

If selling, you might be able to get a bit better than what a dealer would give you as scrap from someone who collects silver Olympic Commemoratives (hint, hint).
